Eva is going to kill us as parents when she gets older.
We pronunce her name Ava or Eh-Vah but spell it with an E. Similar to Eva Mendes or Eva Peron. Every where we go though people are saying Ee-vah. The poor girl will be correcting people all her life just because her parents wanted to be difficult and spell it with an E. She will have the unfortuante luck of also correcting them not only on her first but also her last name. People always say K-toe not Cot-toe :)
Oh well....we still like it! The meaning of Eva is life but Ava means birdlike. Our little drama queen is nothing like a bird so I am glad we choose Eva! Plus she gets to carry daddy's initals EMK!

ReplyDeleteOk, I feel like the biggest tool ever. Not only have I been pronouncing her name as EE-vah (like Wally & Eva) but just realized I've been mis-pronouncing your last name forever. Are you sure it's not Kato as in kay-tow?
