Shake it!

Saturday held 5+ hrs of naps for Eva. She was not feeling a 100% with a runny nose and everything. Her awake time left her somewhat crabby and even her favorite activities were not well received. Sunday she was not much better at playing and took less naps than Saturday, thus ending the weekend with a tired Mommy.

On the bright side she did something new today. She started to shake her head side to side like she is saying no. It's funny to watch, esp when she does it after I ask her a question, since she does not know that it means no yet. She now also loves to hold any kind of paper. She is fascinated by it. I fed her dinner and pulled her out of her high chair, without realizing it she had held a babies r us ad in her hands the entire meal.

Random Thoughts of a COLD Person

Was it just me or was this a hard week! Probably didn't help that I started it with a GNO (Girls Night Out) on Monday.

It's freezing in Cleveland -- 10 degrees this morning! (yes Dad I know it's 75 and Sunny in LA ;)

And my office must be 50 degrees. I should have brought in my space heater today! Or worn the thick sweater I wanted to wear but could not find!

This weekend brings the thought of relaxation and sleep! Looking forward to my Eva time.

That's it for now! Sorry for the random blog!

Licking Toes and Clapping Cups

These are Eva's two new discoveries! When on her changing table getting ready for bed she has started to put her foot to her mouth and lick her toes! YUCK! She also discovered the noise things make when you clap them together. Grandpa Kato got Eva some stacking cups and she now puts one in each hand and hits them together.

Seems like Eva is not allergic to dairy any longer so that is a good thing. She still has only rolled tummy to back a handful of times. But she loves to sit up now to play. She still needs support but seems close to being able to sit up by herself all the time.

I'm fully immersed in school now. The first two weeks were quite intense. Looking forward to being done.

The snow outside has melted away from our warmer weather this past week (above 30 degrees) and I can see the grass outside as the rain comes down this morning.

MLK Day

Heehee...I promise that was the start of a smile not a scream. No matter how hard I try I seem to miss the smile with this camera. I think we need to get a new one that shoots quicker :)
Eva loves to jump in her jumparoo. Attached is a video of her having fun. I even caught her doing her new thing which is sticking out her tongue. Hopefully you can see it amidst the jumping.

Tongue

Eva has discovered her tongue. Specifically how she can stick it out of her mouth at people. I will try to video tape it because it is too funny. She mimics me if I stick mine out at her she sticks hers out at me. (and no we don't normally go around the house sticking our tongues out at people :)

We had a nice weekend. Eric is getting stir crazy though, which happens every winter. Amazingly, he ended up going out in the snow though and shoveling it off of our deck, driveway, and front porch. On Saturday, we hung around the house and Eva took 4 hrs total of naps, I think day care wore her out this week. Sunday we went out to the mall and the grocery store.

I also had the pleasure of starting homework. Yes, school starts again on Tuesday. Only two classes left. One every Tuesday night and then one which is only 5 Fridays, 2 of which are the first two weeks so they will get out of the way quickly. Graduation is May 16th but the semester will be done as of April 20th.

Got Milk?

6 months marks the time for trying dairy again. I rewarded myself for four months of no dairy with yummy meal of Dewey's pizza!

Now it's just a waiting game with Eva to make sure that a rash doesn't reappear. Let's hope she is dairy allergy free!

6 Months Old!

Eva is now 6 months old!
She is 25.25" tall. She weighs 15lbs and 13.5 oz. She is in the 50th percentile for both!
Eva has now had peas, carrots, green beans, squash, and prunes!
She is starting to sit up unassisted but still doesn't like to be on her tummy.
She has only rolled tummy to back 4 times, the doctor said she is just stubborn. Eric and I agree! Either that or her Buddha belly is in her way!

Goodbye vacation....

ah it was a nice two weeks off. The first week was a bit rough with Eva's sleeping schedule but this last week has been wonderful. The Feber method so far is paying off. Eric and I have really enjoyed our week at home just relaxing and having fun with Eva. She has been good about telling us when she is ready for a nap and going down easier and easier each day.

Eric rejoins the workforce tomorrow. I'm off for two more days to help Miss Eva through her six month shots. I'm not looking forward to going back. Still wishing I could afford to be a stay at home Mom. Maybe one day :)

We had a beautiful snow fall today. It's the kind as a kid you dream about. The flakes were big and fluffy and the snow on the ground soft and glittery. Wish Eva was old enough to go build that snowman!
