Our Weekend

Daddy comes home today after being gone since Monday. I, for one, cannot wait. I'm extremely tired this week. Probably from the stress of work, school, and then being the only caregiver. Eva also decided all week to wake up at 6am instead of 7 or 7:30. That hour earlier has been tough.

Eva and I had a fun weekend though. Yesterday we went out to breakfast with Rob, Valerie, and the twins, Eli and Gabriel. Eva then had some playtime with our sitter while Mommy went to yoga with our neighbor Ashleigh. Though it was great to go to yoga, I realize how out of shape I am today. My arms are killing me!

Today Eva and I are venturing off to the mall. I have some Banana bucks that expire today!

I'm a BIG Girl now!

Eva moved to the next room in daycare! She is no longer a Pooh Bear but is now a Chick! I think she loves her new room. Friday was the first day she was there the whole day and when I dropped her off it was the first time in a while she hasn't cried when I left!

The room is bigger and her crib thankfully is not near the door so she is taking longer naps. And they have two big play areas where she can sit and eventually crawl. They have a mini table to feed the kids at lunch and snack time.

I keep telling her she is a big girl now :)

GiGi came up to visit Monday and Tuesday. The day care was closed on Monday so Eva had some extra special time with Grandma.

We started stage 2 baby food because she was getting extra hungry. The flavors are much more exciting like "banana, plum, grape" or "pinapple and pears". We tried to start her on Puffs today but that didn't go so well. I might get teething biscuts tomorrow to try instead. Looking for any recommendations from experience moms on this one :)

One more week and I have mid-terms. Can't believe the semester is half way over already!

Sunday Dinner

Eva: "Oh Good...I get to eat... What's in my bowl?"
Eva: "Are you crazy, how am I supposed to eat my banana's when they are still in the packaging?"

Eva: "I know there is something in here...why is nothing coming out?"
Eva has mastered the art of reaching and grabbing. She pulled her bowl from across her high chair while Eric and I were still getting ready for dinner.
She has started her sippy cup this week. As of now in order for her to get anything out of it, Eric and I have to hold it for her. She hasn't mastered the art of tipping the cup yet! Because she has become so acutely aware of what we are eating and drinking lately, Eric and I started giving her water out of our cups when she is on our laps and reaches for them.

She is sitting up on her own, though we cannot go far because she does topple over after a while. I think she will officially skip the rolling phase and move from sitting to crawling. She still hates to be on her tummy, even when she gets there herself by reaching for something far away.

These are a few of my favorite things...

Eva now loves to read! We read books every night! This one is the Hungry Little Catepillar from GiGi.

Eva loves playing with paper. This was her report card for the day!

And her favorite...eating! (Posted for you Les!) She wasn't in the best mood today so it's not the best take of her eating. Normally you cannot get the food in her mouth fast enough. Grandma Kato's CDs are playing in the background.
