Belly Buttons and Smiles

The pediatrician had told us that it would be anywhere from 7 days to 7 weeks for Eva's embilical cord to fall off.

Well 6 weeks and 9 days the embilical cord was still on and looked like it wasn't going anywhere anytime soon. Funny enough, it decided to fall off the morning of 7 weeks when Mommy was walking around trying to calm down a crying Eva. I didn't realize it had fallen off until I was changing Eva's pjs (spit up!) and saw it missing. Ends up it fell through her pjs and onto the carpet. Don't ask me how! Anyway, I'm glad it is gone Eva's belly looks so cute without it (pictures to be posted soon) and we were able to have our first bath in the tub!

Eva also started to smile. Though we have only seen 3-4 smiles with her eyes open they are adorable and we look forward to seeing many more (picture to be posted soon).

Eric and I went to go look a cars today, we need to replace the Civic with something a bit bigger and family friendly. The Acura is already feeling small so we know the Civic will be even smaller. Unfortunately, we had baby brain and didn't realize all dealership are closed on a Sunday! We did get to check out all the cars we were considering though and hope to make it back out for some test drives while Grandpa Kato is still in town to watch Eva.

I have my second class tomorrow night, the first one on Friday was hard. All day from 9am to 5pm. By 3pm, I was practically falling asleep in my chair. Hopefully it will get easier as Eva gets older.
