Nooooo

Eva's new favorite word is "nooooo".  She suddenly understands the meaning of it, but only when she doesn't want to do something.  Not when Mommy and Daddy say "no".   For example the evening we asked her if she was ready for her bath and she said "noooooo" and ran away. :)   I have a feeling terrible twos are only just beginning.

Down on the Farm

We hit 50 degrees and sunny today.  Spring is on it's way!  Because of the nice weather, Eric and I decided to take Eva somewhere fun.  We went to a metropark that's a farm where you can go and see all the animals.  Since Eva knows how to make all the farm animal sounds we thought she would enjoy seeing them all in real life.   She got to see cows, pigs, sheep, goats, chickens, bunnies, and lammas!   She had a blast.  One of the sheep was out of it's stall and Eva got to pet it!   It was nice to get out and even better that the weather is turning.  When we got home Eric took Eva down the driveway on Mr. Lion.   We didn't get a picture of that but we got one with her Lion towel on her head!  We bought that yesterday at Costco.

Happy Spring!

Eva's favorite song

Eva loves to play dress up!  She is showing off her hat, purse, braclets and necklace in this video.  She also love this song called "run baby run" that my Cousin Carrie send to her.   Here is Eva dancing to that song!

Eva at 19 months!

It's been a while since my last post.  As many of you know Eric and I have had a busy last two months from a work standpoint.   Unfortunately, the past six weeks have also been full of sickness in our household, from sinus infections, to a cold, to double ear infections, to bronchilitis, to the flu.   Not a fun couple of months.  We are looking forward for spring to come and hopefully take all the sickness with it!

Eva is growing, growing, growing.   She loves to try to talk now.  In day care she has learned all the other kids names.   She tries to say her own but it does not sound like Eva.   Her favorite new word lately has been "trucks", she loves to dance and her favorite song is "run baby run" introduced to us by my cousin Carrie, she also loves to play dress up!  She also loves to "help".  She will help me make dinner by measuring and pouring things into bowls, and she will help put her clothes away after her bath, and she also throws out any sort of garbage item she finds!  Doggie is still her favorite stuffed animal and he now goes to bed with her.   We stopped the Nuk a week ago and so far so good.   She has been crying a bit more to go to sleep but it's slowing down each night.

Eva's a Turtle!

Eva is transitioning this week to the next room in Day Care.  Today was her first day where she spent part of it in the Turtle room.   It sounded like she did really really well.   Some things that are different in the Turtle room than her last room, she drinks from a "real" cup and she gets to go the "muscle" room.  I haven't seen the "muscle" room yet but apparently I will need to find it soon because that is where Eva will be ending her day.

This week I started her in her booster seat instead of her high chair.  She was so excited the on Tuesday evening after I set it up she wanted to get in it right away before I even had dinner finished!

Eric and I are also trying to get her off of I" get what I want for dinner" mode, per the advise of our pediatrician.   It's not working so well yet.  Tonight we had a couple meltdowns and then a after bath "snack".  Oh well... :)

Oh and her 18 month stats, I don't have the "exact" figures in front of me but she weighs 24.5lbs.  I forgot her height but both height and weight are within 50th percentile.  Her head as always is a bit bigger :)  She was so good at the doctors for her checkup she didn't even cry when she got her shots!   Eric and I were in shock!
