Our Fuss Bucket

I cannot believe Eva is already 3 weeks and 3 days old. I am so glad I am taking 12 weeks off for maternity leave. I could not imagine going back to work in 2 1/2 weeks!

Overall, we are doing well. Eva is growing like weed! She was 8lbs and 8ozs on Saturday. Nursing has been good but she at times seems to be having stomach issues. We are working with the doctor on this to see if we can help make her feel more comfortable.

Eric and I are behind in getting out our announcments and taking more pictures of Eva. It seems as though we only have energy lately for the bare minimum.

Eva has already met her grandparents on the Downes side and her Uncle Brian. We will post pictures soon of the visits from GiGi (Grandma Genny), Grandpa Downes and Nancy, and Uncle Brian.

  1. I love the nick name! Is she getting fussy only in the evenings? Maya did that for a short while & thankfully outgrew it, but I recall worrying that she had colic. There are many things in your diet that can cause her tummy troubles. Usually it's anything that causes you gas will give the baby gas. Sometimes though babies don't like dairy in Mom's diet. Hopefully you guys get it figured out soon. Depending on the severity of her tummy troubles, it may still be worth it to continue nursing, as formula introduces a lot of non natural ingredients that also can cause tummy issues.

Call me if you have a chance, or call the lactation consultants that work with Hillcrest & University Hospitals. They also used to have a breastfeeding support group that was phenomenal, not only for the nursing aspect, but also for the comraderie.
